D-Air is an electronic airbag system embedded within the riding jacket, suit, or vest. The system automatically detects dangerous situations and deploys in order to add rider protection. The senor package in the airbag system includes accelerometers, rate gyros, and GPS position that can record at speeds of 1000 Hz.
During a deployment the control module in the system will store data parameters associated the deployment event. Data such as x, y, z accelerations are record. A sample deployment recording can be seen below. The data can be retrieved if requested by the registered owner of the jacket/vest at an authorized Dainese dealer.
For more information, refer to the Dainese website.
Dainese D-air® system - High level body protection system
Recent download from Dainese provided the following information:
".....here is some data information we can provide for the smart jacket you sent in....."
- The crash happened on November 4th, 2023, at 16:09:57 UTC.
- The traveling speed was 68.9 kph.
- The Data Analysis shows that the system was working properly, and the battery was charged at 99.4%.
- The rider went down on the right side.
- The system activated properly and on time to protect the rider.
The Tech-Air System is also an electronic airbag system embedded within the riding jacket, suit , or vest. Similar to D-Air, it automatically detects dangerous situations and deploys in order to add rider protection. The system continuously analyzes data from 4 triaxial sensors. During a deployment the control module in the system will store data parameters associated the deployment event.
Some of the systems have Bluetooth paring capabilities to use with a smartphone application. In the smartphone application, the users can record/log rides while using the jacket/vest. The application can pull GPS data (position and speed) from the phone and store it as a "ride" log. The ride log recording has to be manually started by the rider once the jacket is paired with the phone. A sample of ride log export and a screen record from the application can be seen below.
During a deployment the control module in the system will store data parameters associated the deployment event. Data such as x, y, z accelerations are recorded 14.5 minutes pre-deployment and 30 seconds post-deployment.
